Dr. Karen Y. Wilson-Starks is the President of TRANSLEADERSHIP, INC., a values-based executive leadership development consulting company. TRANSLEADERSHIP, INC. specializes in helping clients to create the conditions for fully utilizing the talents and skills of their people. They assist clients to attract and retain more of the best people by creating cultures that are developmental and inclusive. They also facilitate processes by which clients make wise leadership decisions and thrive during times of rapid change and transition, intense competition, and leadership shifts. Using customized and measurable solutions, she and her team partner with corporate executives and other senior leaders to transform their organizations and to obtain significant client results. Interventions include such services as executive coaching, executive retreats and teambuilding, individual and organizational assessments, and customized training.
Her previous positions include serving as an active duty Army Psychologist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., the First Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York; operating private practices in a variety of locations; functioning as the Chief of the Psychology Service for the Exceptional Family Member program in Frankfurt, Germany; and working as the Chief Assessor and a Senior Program Associate for the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) in Colorado Springs. Dr. Wilson-Starks is currently an adjunct faculty member of CCL where she continues to provide training, coaching, and other services to corporate clients.
Educated as a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Wilson-Starks completed her Ph.D. and Master's degrees at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. She is currently licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Colorado and Arizona. She is also listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers. Dr. Wilson-Starks also holds active memberships in the American Psychological Association (APA), The Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), the Society for the Advancement of Consulting (SAC), the Society for Human Resource Managers (SHRM), and the Christian Management Association (CMA). She also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Global Christian University (GCU), on the Board of Directors for S.A.I.L. Inc., and as Director of the Family Life and Counseling Department at King Solomon Baptist Church. At work, her passion is partnering with clients to achieve integration and consistency in their stated values and expressed actions.
