2019 Advancing Consulting Award Winners

Announcing the First Annual Corrie Shanahan Memorial Advancing Consulting Awards

We are pleased to announce the recipients of our first Advancing Consulting Awards, for an established and an emerging consultant.

When we put together this program last year, we realized that Corrie Shanahan embodied those qualities we want to recognize in a consultant. We were hoping she would apply for this year’s award, but that was not to be. In her memory, we have chosen to name the award after her.

About Corrie Shanahan

A native of Ireland, Corrie Shanahan was an expert in rapidly strengthening organizational performance, productivity, and corporate culture, and the author of Do it, Mean it, Be it. The Keys to Achieve Success, Happiness and Everything You Deserve at Work and in Life.

She worked with clients all over the world, including leaders at Mars Inc., UNICEF, Discovery Communications, Deloitte, the World Bank and the IMF. Her clients engaged her to rapidly improve their performance, to successfully manage transitions, and to develop leadership capacity across their organizations.

Her career included being head of communications for the IIF, the world’s largest trade association for the financial industry, and leading external communications for IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank. She was also the chief spokesperson at UNFPA, and led Delta Airlines’ communications and investor relations in Europe. She covered international news as a journalist for NBC News and Reuters in Moscow, London, and Jerusalem.

Corrie was an active, generous member of the Alan Weiss consulting community. She continued serving her clients throughout her two-year battle with ovarian cancer, providing a shining example of discipline and optimism throughout her ordeal. She passed away in March 2019. Her spirit is an inspiration to all of us.

Congratulations to this year’s winners.
