SAC established the Corrie Shanahan Memorial Awards for Advancing Consulting in 2019.
These awards are presented annually to two SAC members (an established independent consultant and an emerging independent consultant) who have done the most to advance the profession in the previous year.
Award winners will be leaders and contributors to the profession who have achieved client results as shown with solid/testimonials/evidence, as well as demonstrated contribution to the advancement of the profession with articles, book(s), speaking engagements, volunteer leadership positions, advocacy on behalf of the profession, and more. Candidates for this award must be individuals who are currently working in the field, who receive the majority of their current annual income from their consulting practices, and are current members of SAC.
These awards are named in memory of Corrie Shanahan, a SAC member who passed away in 2019. Corrie was an expert in rapidly strengthening organizational performance, productivity, and corporate culture, and the author of Do it, Mean it, Be it. The Keys to Achieve Success, Happiness and Everything You Deserve at Work and in Life. She was an active, generous member of SAC, who exemplified the qualities we are looking to recognize in a consultant.
This year’s call for nominations is now closed. The awards will be presented at our Annual Meeting on October 21, 2020. Through a highly confidential and thorough process, a committee of SAC members, led by chair Pamela Harper, will review submissions and evaluate applicants based on a set of pre-defined criteria (see below).
