Award Presented for Outstanding Performance as an Emerging Consultant
NEW YORK, NY—The Society for the Advancement of Consulting® (SAC), a leading global association of independent consulting professionals, today announced that Amy Lee Segami is one of the initial winners of the Corrie Shanahan Memorial Award for Advancing Consulting. The award, announced at the 16th annual meeting of the organization, is given to the two independent consultants who have done the most to advance the profession in the previous year.
Amy Lee Segami, president and managing principal of Segami Studios & Consulting, Chicago, IL, received the award for emerging consultant.
The award has been named in memory of Corrie Shanahan, a SAC member who passed away earlier this year. Corrie Shanahan was an expert in rapidly strengthening organizational performance, productivity, and corporate culture, and the author of Do it, Mean it, Be it. The Keys to Achieve Success, Happiness and Everything You Deserve at Work and in Life.
“Corrie was an active, generous member of this community, who exemplified the qualities we were looking to recognize in a consultant,” according to Linda Popky, co-executive director of SAC. “We are pleased to be able to recognize her professionalism, dedication and unfailing optimism in spite of the health challenges she faced. It’s fitting that her spirit lives on with this award.”
About the Winner
“We want to congratulate Amy for winning this award,” said Lisa Anderson, co-executive director of SAC. “The applicant pool was highly qualified and reflects the high caliber of consultants who belong to the SAC association.”
“I am both honored and humbled to be the recipient of this award,” said Segami. “Winning this means that I have made valuable and significant contributions to my clients and society. It also signals that I am on the right track.
“Through my engineering education, artistic development, and life experience, I have learned that everything is connected. The more diverse the experience, the better I am able to see through the complexity of a situation,” she added. “This community provides valuable mentors, colleagues, and friends. I look forward to connecting to this global network of individuals, ideas, and group alliance. As a society together, each and every one of us can contribute to the Advancement of Consulting.”
Amy is the founder and executive producer of TEDxIIT, and a trusted advisor for
TEDxChicago. She is also a co-founder of EDGE Women Speakers, a group of award-winning speakers, entrepreneurs and consultants. In December, she will speak at the inaugural TEDxWilmetteWomen in Wilmette, IL.
She resides in Chicago, IL.
