Consulting Society Announces Leadership Change, Expanded Offerings

CLAREMONT, CA—The Society for the Advancement of Consulting® (SAC), a leading association of global consulting professionals, announces that leadership of the organization is passing to two long-time members effective immediately, according to

SAC founder and Million Dollar Consulting guru, Dr. Alan Weiss.

Lisa Anderson and Linda Popky will now serve as Executive Directors, while Dr. Weiss will remain a senior advisor to the organization. Headquarters of the group have been moved from East Greenwich, RI to Claremont, CA.

“After fifteen years at the helm of SAC, it’s time to pass the reins,” said Weiss. “Lisa and Linda are both well-respected senior consultants who have been involved with the organization for most of its history. I believe they are the right people to help SAC flourish and thrive in its next chapter.”

New Executive Directors

Lisa Anderson, president of LMA Consulting Group Inc., specializes in manufacturing strategy and end-to-end supply chain transformation that maximizes the customer experience and enables profitable, scalable, dramatic business growth. She is a member of the Million Dollar Consulting Hall of Fame ® and was named a Top 16 Supply Chain Influencer by SAP, a Top 40 B2B Tech Influencer by Arketi, and a Top Women Influencer by Solutions Review.

Linda Popky, president of Redwood Shores, CA-based strategic marketing firm Leverage2Market Associates, helps organizations get heard about the noise. She is a member of the Million Dollar Consulting Hall of Fame ®, a Private Roster Master Mentor, and was named one of the top women in Silicon Valley in 2009. She is the author of Marketing Above the Noise: Achieve Strategic Advantage with Marketing That Matters.

Expanded Programs Available

Anderson and Popky plan to expand the programs available to SAC members, without raising membership rates, which remain at the same low level as when the group started in 2003. Among the first programs to be offered this spring will be the SAC Best Practices Webinar series. These one-hour webinar presentations, available at no charge to SAC members, will feature such outstanding presenters as sales expert Colleen Francis, positioning expert Mark Levy, speaking guru Patricia Fripp, master coach Marshall Goldsmith, social media strategist Lisa Larter, globalization expert Omar Khan, and PR expert Dan Janal, as well as SAC Founder Alan Weiss.

SAC members will receive discounts on a variety of programs and services, such as disability insurance through Coronado Financial Group, errors and omissions (E&O) and general liability insurance from Katzman Insurance Services, and PR support programs through PR Leads. The organization also will be partnering with complementary groups, such as Bay Area-based Women in Consulting.

New Website, Streamlined Application Process

SAC has launched a brand-new website, available at, which includes a blog with member-contributed content, as well as a simple tool for organizations to find a consultant within SAC that has the skills and competencies they need.

In addition, the process to apply for SAC membership has been streamlined and can  now be completed totally online. A lower-cost international membership is now available for those members who do not live in North America and would like to maintain a virtual relationship with the organization.

Promotional Pricing Available This Month

In conjunction with the re-launch of the organization, SAC is offering a special price promotion for the next 30 days only. One year of membership, normally $250, will be available for $195, and the one-time $50 application fee will be waived.
